"Evening Encounters: Bluebells, Robins, and the Joys of Garden Wildlife"

I spent a charming evening in the garden yesterday, finally managing to pull up the last of the Bluebells from the Rockery. Oh, but today, I certainly feel the aftereffects!

As any gardener knows, whenever you start digging around and uprooting plants, it's as if you summon a little parade of friends. Disturbing the soil stirs up all sorts of insects, creating quite the banquet for the birds—especially our delightful Robins.

Last night, I had the pleasure of three lovely Robins visiting me. I worked on the Bluebells in sections, gently raking over the earth, and oh, how the Robins thrived! It was a magical moment, witnessing nature in all its splendor. What warmed my heart even more was seeing a parent Robin with its little one nearby.

The other Robin would flit about, gathering food and dashing into the holly tree, where I could hear the soft, squeaky chirps of the chicks waiting for their supper. It was a tender reminder of the beauty of life and the wonders of the natural world.

Warmly, Lindsay Blair
