A warm welcome to Blair Cottage.

Hello, my name is Lindsay Blair. I’m 30 years old and I have the joy of serving as a paramedic. I'm also the proud owner of a beautiful white English Bull Terrier named Hamish and a delightful little cat called Clara Bell. Recently, I took the exciting step of becoming a first-time homeowner!

I reside in the quaint town of Crowland, nestled in Lincolnshire, not far from the border of Cambridgeshire. My home is a charming three-bedroom cottage with a lovely small courtyard garden that gracefully leads into a long, winding garden that I adore. 

This cottage is truly a treasure, with its traditional and cozy character that radiates a country-like charm. Upon entering Blair Cottage, you are greeted by stunning original wooden beams in both the snug and the landing. I couldn’t resist the allure of the huge original Inglenook fireplace, and I made sure to install a splendid log burner to enhance those chilly evenings.

Throughout my home, you’ll find beautiful wooden flooring, giving it a warm and inviting feel, with the exception of two rooms— the snug and the smaller bedroom— where the previous owner, opted for soft carpeting. The kitchen and bathroom offer charming tiled floors, creating a delightful blend of comfort and style.

Speaking of the bathroom, it is tucked away downstairs at the rear of the cottage, conveniently located just off the galley kitchen. However, I have exciting plans on the horizon! I’m hoping to extend my kitchen soon. The second living room, which is adjacent to the kitchen, will be transformed into a charming kitchen-diner with an old-fashioned stove that I believe will encapsulate the heart of cosy family gatherings.

Cooking and entertaining are my passions, so a spacious, airy kitchen would truly be wonderful. But for now, my focus needs to be on decorating and bringing my vision to life.

I have a deep love for all things old and antique, and you can often find me wandering through my local charity shop and antiques stores. I'm not one for modern aesthetics; rather, I’m enamoured with quintessentially British styles, from the decor in my cottage to the delightful ambiance of my garden. I truly relish the simple pleasures life has to offer.

Having lived in my own home for just shy of a year, I wanted to create this blog to share my journey and the little adventures that unfold here at Blair Cottage. 

Throughout the year, I’ll take you along as we witness the charm of each season unfold in and around Blair Cottage. From the bright blooms of spring to the golden hues of autumn, I can’t wait to showcase the beauty and changes of my beloved space.

But it’s not just about the cottage—I want to share the things that inspire and bring me joy in life. You’ll find glimpses of my fashion icons, my unabashed love for gardening, and the playlists that keep me company as I tend to my plants and decorate my home.

Expect to see my personal style, which leans toward a delightful mix of vintage charm and contemporary flair, as well as my fascination with historical figures like Anne Boleyn and all things Tudor décor.

I believe in keeping things real, so I won't shy away from sharing both the highs and the lows of this new chapter. Living on my own for the first time has been a significant learning curve, and I’m here to share the lessons, the challenges, and the beauty of independence.
